FOGCC TO GO "BEYOND THE VISION"!!
Two years ago, FOGCC took a huge step of faith in purchasing
our present building from the First Baptist Church for the sum of
$130,000. After a down payment, we ended up with a Land Contract for
$97,500. Amazingly, we have met every payment on time...and just
recently, because of your faithful tithes and offerings--we were able to make a
lump sum payment of $25,000! God is good! Thanks to each one of you
for making that possible. And now, we are ready to take another leap of
faith--this time we have decided to call it "BEYOND THE VISION."
For the next few weeks, until our Pledge Sunday on May 20,
you will be hearing more and more about this. If you weren't at our
Informational Meeting on Sunday, April 29--please pick up a packet of
information available to you at FOGCC (or call us and we will be happy to send
you a packet). Basically, this leap of faith asks all of us if it is
possible for us to become DEBT-FREE within the next few years. This
would, of course, allow us to be totally focused on ministry--rather than
having a large percentage of our budget go to a mortgage payment. We realize
that not everyone is in a position to give over and above their weekly
tithe/offering--and that is fine. One thing that we all can do is keep
this as a matter of prayer for the next few weeks.
For those who feel that God is calling them and blessing
them in a way that makes it possible to make some kind of financial commitment
or pledge, please take a good look at the BEYOND THE VISION plan and pledge
card. If you have questions, please let us know. Right now, our
balance is $70,400--amazing, isn't it? If we can save paying more
interest--if we can further pay down that balance--if God keeps blessing--who
knows?
The commitee that worked on this dream consists of Dixie Boeskool,
Del and Jean Hirdes, Judy Bowen, Jim Maatman and Rick Boss. They would be
happy to answer any of your questions! May the peace of Christ be with
you!
